Why Active Ageing?

Staying active is the single most important thing you can do to prevent falls and remain independent.

By keeping active, participating in activities that increase your strength and improve your balance, can reduce the risk of falling.

Attending a Flexout Health Active Ageing class is a great way to remain active and independent in a safe and supervised environment.

Our classes will encourage you to keep active with sensible exercises to suit your age and ability.

What if the class time doesn't suit me?

If the class time doesn’t suit you, please still book in for an initial assessment with one of our Exercise Physiologists and they may be able to recommend another class, or provide you with a home exercise program.

Is there a cancellation policy?

At Flexout Health, we understand people get busy and from time to time, emergencies come up and things change. If you cannot keep your appointment, please call us as soon as possible so we can reschedule your appointment.

Do I need a doctor’s referral?

No. In Australia accredited exercise physiologists are first contact practitioners, so a referral is not required to attend for treatment. However, a doctor’s referral may be recommended for participants with particular health conditions.

When do active ageing classes run?

Class timetables vary. Please contact your nearest clinic directly to find out the available time slots for each location.

Do I need to book in?

Yes. Bookings for an initial assessment into the Active Ageing classes are essential. Click on the registration button above to register.

What is the cost of an active ageing class?

For private clients, per session payment packages are available. Subsidised sessions may also be available through some compensable schemes if you are eligible. Please contact your nearest clinic directly to find out more.

Do I need an assessment prior to commencing the class?

Yes. It will be conducted before you begin your group class and will allow your exercise physiologist to gain an understanding of your goals and capabilities.

What do the classes involve?

The Active Ageing classes involve once weekly group exercise sessions. The classes are run by our Accredited Exercise Physiologists. The classes consist of a combination of strength and balance based exercises. All exercises are modified for individual abilities.
