Georgie grew up on a property in the Riverina near Culcairn. From a very young age she was heavily involved with a range of different sports, particularly netball, tennis, athletics and cross country. This resulted in Georgie naturally gravitating to health, science and physical activity subjects at school which has led to a career in Exercise Physiology. After completing her schooling locally at Billabong High School, Georgie moved to Bendigo and completed a Degree in Exercise Science, followed by a Masters of Exercise Physiology at La Trobe University.
As part of her Masters, Georgie completed research investigating optimal exercise dosage and pregnancy. While at university in Bendigo, Georgie completed a 6 month internship at Woodford Sport Science Consulting in Melbourne, providing her with valuable experience in athletic preparation, rehabilitation and injury prevention. More recently Georgie has developed a keen interest in Clinical Pilates, having completed her Matwork Certification training through the Australian Physiotherapy Pilates Institute (APPI) earlier this year, with further pilates equipment training scheduled for later in 2018.
Georgie loves having the ability to work with individuals with a wide variety of health conditions to overcome barriers, regain function, improve performance or make positive lifestyle decisions. She is passionate about facilitating these changes through exercise interventions and educating others about the benefits of physical activity. Georgie has professional interests in clinical pilates, woman health, chronic disease management, athletic development and musculoskeletal rehabilitation. She is also completed post graduate study through the Southern Cross University to be a diabetes educator.
